When I look back in past, I feel I was sometimes doing funny things. While in grade 10, I decided on one fine day that I would climb the Pavagadh mountain (near Baroda) and go to the temple there if I would get good results. And there we were..after the results. However the critical thing was who else would take me and accompany me to climb so high as I could not do it alone. I never thought about this while taking the decision to climb.
But my dad was there for me ready to climb the whole mountain. In fact, he was more fit than me to climb because of his efforts ro keep himself healthy. I remember since I was very young, dad would do different types of exercises and yogasanas in morning. Till today he keeps himself active and goes for a walk apart from his breathing and eye exercises. After my maternal grandfather, I have found one person, my dad, who follows a disciplined and timed routine for his day-to-day activities. (However now I also feel that my little sister and brother are also following his footsteps).
So it was decided that dad would take me there and so we started. The task was huge and it was quite hot as it was summer time. We took water and some snacks including grapes with us. And then we started climbing. This was one of the finest time that I spent with my dad in my childhood. As we started climbing, the initial one hour was fine. But then as the sun started to get overhead, we got tired. So we took breaks in between and in those breaks dad gave me grapes to eat. He said as grapes have sucrose we will get instant energy. And it was so true. Dad kept my spirits high and motivated me during the whole hike. Thus we ultimately climbed the Pavagadh mountain and could worship in the temple.
Such is the spirit of dad. In fact he would always be there for us in the toughest of times. I remember whenever I would be sick and not be able to get up from bed, he would bring all medicines and water to me. If I would get up early morning to study, he would prepare tea or milk for me so early in morning.
I love you dad and feel so lucky to be your child...
