The only person whom I look up to for sound counsel, advice & guidance, Dad, you’re the epitome of patience & poise in the most trying circumstances.
Today, on your special day, I look back with reverence at your journey through the joyous, carefree & playful days at Sarol, a bustling village abutting the Yamuna Express Highway, the days of academic brilliance at Jodhpur University, the way you effortlessly juggled your duties as a dutiful husband & a doting father & your responsibilities as a legal professional & your time with your grandchildren sharing your knowledge, wisdom & experience.
I remember walking by your side during our evening walks after dinner, trying to match my little footsteps with your long strides & listening to your wonderfully articulated tales of Himmatlal & Kadtadlal while sleeping on the terrace. Study with you was always a breeze, especially maths & science & I always looked forward to playing cricket & badminton with you.
I remember how you rode your two-wheeler even with a fractured arm & how your drove your car in the middle of the night bearing excruciating pain, which are just a few examples of your resilience & strength. No wonder you defeated the deadly corona virus after a month long battle, including 24 days of sheer mental & physical strength & resolve at the hospital in the most trying circumstances.
Dad, you’re a repository of some of the most ancient literature including the Ramayana, a legacy which is being continued by your dear grandson, & some of the most rare & exceptional Dohas, Poems & Couplets in Hindi & Sanskrit.
Dad! I am so very fortunate & grateful to have you as my friend, philosopher & guide. I love you very much.
